Despite only being available to existing Amazon Echo owners and developers, the Echo Dot has been on backorder for quite some time. Good news if you are one of the thousands of people who have been patiently waiting to receive one, Amazon has begun shipping them!
I had ordered one in early April, when they were already on backorder, and didn’t expect to receive mine until June 28th. Amazon is a bit ahead of schedule because I received a notification that it will be on my doorstep tomorrow afternoon (please don’t try to come take it off of my doorstep, I work from home and I really don’t want that kind of a day tomorrow).
The Echo Dot already has the potential to be this year’s must have gift of the holiday season, even if you still can’t order one without an Echo.
